Web Programmer (Austin, TX – Full Time)
Responsible for integrating the game within the Facebook framework and our standalone website.
Requirements:
- in-depth knowledge of web development tools, languages and frameworks including: PHP5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
- successful Facebook development experience
- experience working in a version control environment
- working knowledge of MySQL
- understanding of art and design principles
- comfortable collaborating in a team environment
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- familiarity with current browser, PC, or console games
Pluses are experience with Flash, ActionScript 3 and Java. Experience with Ruby on Rails or Python. Familiarity with PostgreSQL. Northwest Austin location.
Server Engineer (Austin, TX – Full Time)
Develop and maintain game web server infrastructure using Java servlets built on Tomcat. Maintain MySQL database, architect scalable solutions to game design problems, and implement server-side game play logic. Develop game server backend using an existing code base, engineer scalable solutions for production environment, write game play logic for game systems in Java, and contribute to overall design of the game.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have 3+ yrs experience with Java servlet programming
- A passion for video games (solid experience playing multiple online video games)
- Able to run and operate an Apache Tomcat server
- Working knowledge of MySQL and Hibernate
- Be comfortable using a Linux operating system
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with current browser, PC, or console games
Pluses are JavaScript, ActionScript 3, MS-SQL, Perl, Adobe tools (Photoshop, Flash, Premier). Game development experience not necessary. Northwest Austin location.
Flash Client Programmer (Austin, TX – Full Time)
Responsible for client development of high-quality/high-performance game functionality and support.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of ActionScript3/Flex language and development tools
- Working knowledge of XML
- Knowledge of asynchronous web client/server development
- Experience working in a version control environment
- Comfortable collaborating in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for video games (solid experience playing multiple online video games)
Pluses are UI usability experience, Facebook development experience, experience with Java programming and MySQL, previous game development experience, and experience with live product development support. Northwest Austin location.
