Web Server Engineer (Austin, TX - Full Time)
Develop and maintain game web server infrastructure using Java servlets built on Tomcat. Maintain MySQL database, architect scalable solutions to game design problems, and implement server-side game play logic. Develop game server backend using an existing code base, engineer scalable solutions for production environment, write game play logic for game systems in Java, and contribute to overall design of the game.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have 3+ yrs experience with Java servlet programming
- a passion for video games (solid experience playing multiple online video games)
- able to run and operate an Apache Tomcat server
- working knowledge of MySQL and Hibernate
- be comfortable using a Linux operating system
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- familiarity with current browser, PC, or console games
Pluses are JavaScript, ActionScript 3, MS-SQL, Perl, Adobe tools (Photoshop, Flash, Premier). Game development experience not necessary. Northwest Austin location.
